The Austin17House was established in 2017, after the tragic loss of two young people, Austin Anderson & Taylor Nelson.

Austin was a 17-year-old boy who grew up in Fremont, NH., attended the Ellis School in Fremont, Sanborn High School in Kingston, and was currently in his senior year at Great Bay Charter School in Exeter. In his younger years, Austin enjoyed building things with Lego's, playing computer and video games, and he played football several years with the Nor-Rock Vikings. Austin was a very social and loving person. He had the kindest heart and was always willing to help anyone. Austin enjoyed being neat and having things in order.

On December 3, 2016, Austin & Taylor passed away in a drug-related car accident in Seabrook, NH. The impact of two losses devastated the community but brought many together in hopes of making a difference.

Mark, Austin's father, always dreamed of opening a community center, and after the loss of his son, it quickly became his reality.

Austin Inspires Change

"Over 250 kids arrived (at Austin's wake), and they stood out in the cold, lining up trying to come into the funeral home," Anderson said. "They said they loved Austin; they were friends with Austin. The group that got me the most was the ones who said Austin helped them out. I decided my son’s friends needed help, and I was the one that needed to give it to them."
