Austin17House is excited to announce an Alternative Learning Environment right inside our center!

Youth and families are invited to join us during the week to enjoy a safe space, meals and support during their day.

Tuesday through Friday

9AM-3PM

Supervised Environment

Our facility offers a peaceful and safe setting for youths and their families to focus on their work without interruptions.

Our team of mentors and staff maintain an organized environment that encourages productivity.

Alternative Day Schedule

TUESDAY - THURSDAY

Morning Drop Off
9 AM

General Studies
9:30 AM - 11:00 AM

Lunch & Recess
11 PM - 1PM

Afternoon Electives
1 PM - 3PM

Morning drop off will be between 9 AM.

Students are invited to grab breakfast, blow off some energy in our gymnasium, or take some time to relax before the day gets started.

General Studies include supervised study for students.

Students will join assigned classrooms based on grade level, and student needs.

Lunch and Recess Hour

...followed by Chore & Chill time before afternoon electives.

Students join in on hands-on learning opportunities in the arts, wellness, life skills, and more.

FRIDAY
Field Trips TBD on a monthly basis.

"The social, emotional, and financial challenges facing our youth and families today are overwhelming. Traditional systems often fall short in their attempts to provide students and families with the tools they need to overcome these daily, real-life struggles. Seeing children and families grappling with the reality of mental health issues, substance misuse, and socioeconomic disparities has made it increasingly evident that there is an urgent need for alternative learning environments with resources that will support these families so children can be prosperous in life".

How we got here?

In 2023 a small group of passionate individuals came to Mark, with the vision of providing an alternative learning environment for homeschool families and parents looking for an alternative to traditional learning institutions. As parents themselves, they knew that there was a great cost that came with homeschooling, and with today's unprecedented times, the idea of parents giving up an income to support their child's education can seem impossible.

After some vision casting the team joined forces with Austin17House to talk about what this could look like, and how an environment like this would be perfect for the youth and families in our communities. The support and interest from the youth and families in our communities encouraged the Austin17House to continue down this path and establish a pilot program for the Fall 2024 year. We look forward to launching this and providing additional resources for our families in need.
